Why it’s on the route
Cafe Steam opened on South Broadway in 2015 and now runs several Rochester cafés; in 2021 its owners, including co-owner Will Forsman, bought Narrow Road Coffee and its roasting facility and launched Colorway Coffee Roasters, which roasts for the cafés on a Diedrich IR-7. The flagship is a comfortable, slightly quirky street-level room suited to sitting and working, with scones and muffins alongside the coffee.
