Why it’s on the route

Cxffeeblack was started by Bartholomew Jones and Renata Henderson, who began roasting at home and later ran the Anti Gentrification Cxffee Club pop-up in Memphis. In December 2025 they opened a flagship on Bowen Avenue in Mitchell Heights, in a long-empty building restored with community crowdfunding, combining a café, roastery and event space. The bar serves pour-over and espresso from coffees the company roasts itself.
