Worth a detour
Fluid Cooperative Cafe
San Francisco, United States
Why it’s on the route
Fluid is a worker-owned cooperative café founded in 2021 by trans activists Shannon Amitin, Santana Tapia and JoJo Ty as a space by and for queer and trans people. It started as a pop-up in La Cocina Municipal Marketplace in the Tenderloin before settling on Golden Gate Avenue, and it has highlighted queer-owned roasters such as Equator and Queer Wave. The space also hosts community events, from open mics to drag brunch.
