Why it’s on the route

Gold Sprint is a coffee shop and bike hangout in West Huntsville run by Victor Burlingame, who came to coffee from years in the bicycle-shop trade. It serves beans from Domestique, a socially minded importer and roaster, with pour-over on the menu. The cozy, eclectic room, decorated with pennants, skateboards and a trike-riding stuffed raccoon, is meant as a third place for cyclists, remote workers and neighbours.
