Why it’s on the route
Hidden House was opened in 2010 by Marine Corps veteran Ben Briggs in a cottage of roughly 120 years in San Juan Capistrano's historic Los Rios district. It started out brewing coffee from local importer-roaster Bodhi Leaf, added its own roaster in 2013, and now roasts for all its cafés and wholesale at its Santa Ana shop. The original cottage remains the brand's signature café.
