Why it’s on the route

Northwest Coffee Roasting is one of St. Louis's older specialty coffee companies, started in the early 1990s by a Seattle transplant and focused on small-batch roasting. Its Laclede Avenue café, two blocks from Saint Louis University, is a converted nursery garage with a simple interior and a covered patio, and has served as a roasting site for the brand.
