Why it’s on the route

Ruby was started by Jared Linzmeier and his wife Deanna, who named it after his grandmother; the coffee is roasted at their facility in Nelsonville, about 20 minutes east, often from single lots bought from farms Linzmeier knows personally in Guatemala, Ethiopia, El Salvador and Costa Rica. The downtown café occupies the renovated former Water Street Grille building and has its own chef serving locally sourced food alongside the coffee.
