Why it’s on the route
Salt Lake Roasting Company is the work of Jon Bolton, who began roasting in 1981 and opened the shop a couple of years later. In 2017 it moved five blocks east to this smaller 400 South building, keeping the old shop's coffee-region maps, iron gates and Bora Bora-blue exterior. Bolton still roasts on the German roaster he bought in 1983, and coffee is offered by the batch or brewed by the cup.
