Why it’s on the route
Cokuun is a four-seat, reservation-only coffee bar in Jingumae designed by 2014 World Barista Champion Hidenori Izaki, joined in 2023 by Itsuki Suzuki, a three-time Japan Barista Champion and WBC runner-up. The single Coffee Omakase course runs to five cups built around one limited competition-grade lot, some made with traditional Japanese ingredients. Cups are served in Arita porcelain on lacquered trays, in a room meant to evoke a slowly rusting iron kettle.
