Hell Cafe began in Bogwang-dong and became known for thick, intense drip coffee and strong milk drinks, roasted by its uncompromising roaster Kwon Yo-seop, often on the dark side. Spiritus, its Ichon-dong shop in the Hangang Mansion apartments, serves cloth (nel) drip coffee alongside espresso, cappuccino and the house Hell Latte, and doubles as a whisky bar. The room is dark and wood-panelled, and the house rules are strict, down to how quickly a cappuccino should be drunk.
