Why it’s on the route
Maillardos is a roastery of about 30 square metres in Rheineck with a small coffee bar and a couple of tables, run by Uriel Sonderegger and Raquel Sandoval. The owners were inspired by coffee ceremonies in Ethiopia, and the house speciality is coffee rested in whisky casks from local distilleries before roasting.
