Roots Coffee Roaster (Roots at theCOMMONS)
Bangkok · Watthana, Thailand
Why it’s on the route
Roots was founded by Varatt Vichit-Vadakan, a former Thailand Barista Champion, from the team behind Roast at theCOMMONS, and grew from a dedicated roasting business into some ten Bangkok cafés. It focuses on Thai-grown coffee, much of it from the north, and runs a cup-to-farm programme returning part of its profits to producers. The theCOMMONS shop in Thonglor serves filter brews and seasonal cold brew; Roots' Chatchalerm Lertanekwattana won the 2025 World Cup Tasters title.
