Why it’s on the route

Commonplace was founded in 2003 by Julie and TJ Fairchild in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and has grown into a small roaster with cafés across Pittsburgh. Its Mexican War Streets shop on Buena Vista Street took over a beloved neighborhood space and is a small room with floor-to-ceiling windows onto the historic streets, often standing-room-only on weekend mornings.
