Why it’s on the route

Espresso a Mano opened on Butler Street in Lawrenceville in 2009 and ran as a single shop for over a decade, becoming one of Pittsburgh's early specialty cafés, before adding locations and starting to roast its own beans in 2021. The original is small and narrow, with tables on the sidewalk in summer and deliberately no Wi-Fi to keep the focus on conversation.
