Dead River Coffee
Marquette · Downtown, United States
Why it’s on the route
Dead River dates to 2002, when founder Theo McCracken began roasting in Marquette; since 2008 the café and roastery have been on West Baraga Avenue, a couple of blocks from Lake Superior, and Sloan Dorr took over the woman-owned business in 2021. It offers around a dozen house roasts, such as the Dead River Blend, from beans sourced in Brazil, Ethiopia and Honduras, and pour-overs are made daily.
