Why it’s on the route

Highwire was founded in the East Bay in 2011 by longtime friends Rich Avella, Eric Hashimoto and Robert Myers, and roasts in Emeryville. The Rockridge café, opened in May 2011, sits beside Rockridge Market Hall a short walk from BART, with sidewalk seating out front. The lineup runs from washed Ethiopian single origins such as Worka Chelbessa to house blends like Tightrope and the Market Hall Blend.
