Why it’s on the route
La Mulita was opened in Rye in late 2019 by Max and Andrea Pruna, who grew up in Colombia; the name means "little mule", after the mules that carried coffee down the mountains of southern Antioquia. Max, who started roasting in his garage, roasts Colombian coffees with a lean toward lighter roasts, served as espresso, drip and cold brew a short drive from Portsmouth.
