Lineage was founded around 2012 by Jarrett and Justine Johnson with partner Ryan Wilcox, and built its following from a coffee bar inside Audubon Park's East End Market food hall. The company roasts on Diedrich and Joper machines, buying from importers such as Caravela and Red Fox and aiming for fresh, bright coffees. Its larger Scandinavian-style café opened in 2017 on East Colonial Drive in Mills 50.
