Why it’s on the route

Maru takes its name from a Korean word for mountaintop, a nod to high-grown coffee, and opened its first shop in Los Feliz in 2017. This larger Arts District café is where the company roasts, with the roaster visible behind glass. The bright, minimalist room of light wood and white walls serves single-origin pour-overs, espresso blends and house drinks such as the cream-topped iced long black.
