Why it’s on the route

Mostra Coffee was started in San Diego by a group of Filipino-American friends, among them chef Mike Arquines, who began by roasting at home. The roastery builds much of its program around Philippine-grown specialty coffee and support for the farmers behind it. The Carmel Mountain Ranch café is a dark, wood-furnished room with a bold yellow accent, known for chef-designed signature lattes such as a bibingka crème brûlée.
