Why it’s on the route

Normal Roasting takes its name from Normal, Illinois, where it was founded; owner Josh Holmquist bought it and moved it through Ord and Arcadia to a downtown building in Burwell, a Sandhills town of about 1,200. Coffee is roasted in the same building, and the café opened at the front in 2020, also supplying wholesale customers in Nebraska, Iowa and Wyoming.
