Recreo Coffee & Roasterie

Why it’s on the route

Recreo was opened in West Roxbury in 2015 by Miriam and Hector Morales, and roasts coffee grown on Miriam's family farm in Nicaragua, which the family has worked for more than 40 years. The business sees itself as a roaster first and stays close to the farmers who harvest its beans. The original Centre Street café is the coziest of its shops, with exposed brick and warm service; a second bar sits in Boston City Hall.
