Why it’s on the route
Ritual opened on Valencia Street in May 2005, founded by Eileen Hassi, and was soon counted among the cafés that defined San Francisco's third wave. The company roasts its own coffee for wholesale customers and its cafés in San Francisco and Napa. The original Valencia shop, remodeled in 2014, is a high-ceilinged room with plenty of tables and has long been a neighborhood place to sit and work.
