Worth a detour
Tartine Manufactory
San Francisco · Mission, United States
Why it’s on the route
Tartine Manufactory is the larger, all-day sibling of Tartine Bakery from Chad Robertson and Elisabeth Prueitt, opened in 2016 in a century-old building beside the Heath Ceramics factory. Its coffee comes from Coffee Manufactory, roasted on a Loring in Berkeley, with an espresso blend, a filter blend and rotating single origins, and shots pulled on a Mavam. The 96-seat room keeps its original fir beams and uses custom Heath ceramics, with the flour mill and fermentation room visible from the floor.
