Why it’s on the route

Rivers and Roads was opened by Michael and Desiree Keen on a once-derelict lot in Denver's Clayton neighbourhood: Michael roasts and Desiree runs the scratch bakery. A 3.25-kilo Buckeye roaster sits in the dining room where guests can watch, and espresso comes from a restored 1952 Faema Urania lever machine. There is no permanent house coffee; single origins rotate through a range of brew methods.
