Rock City Coffee grew out of Second Read Books & Coffee, which began roasting in Rockland in 1999, and became a worker-owned cooperative in 2018. Roasting now takes place in a cooperative-owned building in nearby Rockport, while the Main Street café serves espresso and pastries and hosts live music.
