Side Practice is Francis Almeda's Filipino-owned café in Ravenswood, opened in 2020 in a semi-subterranean room with a living-room feel. It is a multi-roaster bar that has poured Chicago roasters such as Four Letter Word and New Math alongside Friedhats and Manhattan from the Netherlands, with espresso, batch brew and Kalita Wave pour-overs, plus drinks like Manila matcha and pandan. The shop also sells local makers' goods and hosts art and events.
