Why it’s on the route

The Avondale Coffee Club opened on Elston Avenue in 2018 with a mid-century-modern look of wood panelling, colourful lounge chairs and a sputnik chandelier. After closing during the pandemic it reopened in early 2021 under Kati Paiz, a former manager, and Adam Paronto, who kept the retro feel. Coffee comes from Reprise Roasters, a suburban roaster with cafés in Evanston, and there is a bottomless drip option and a patio in good weather.
