Why it’s on the route

Sleeping Bird grew out of Zack DeLong's mobile coffee truck, which ran for about four years before he and co-owner Leigh Ann Tona opened this 9th Ward shop near Wilmington Brew Works in May 2021. Espresso is pulled on a matte-black Synesso S200 using Rival Bros. coffee from Philadelphia, and nearly all the food in the bird-themed café is made from scratch.
