Why it’s on the route
The Wormhole has been on Milwaukee Avenue in Wicker Park since around 2010 and is best known for its 1980s sci-fi décor, including a full-size Back to the Future DeLorean, Star Wars memorabilia and a vintage Nintendo. Behind the nostalgia is a serious bar: espresso on a Synesso with house, single-origin and decaf options, and filter by V60, Chemex and AeroPress, with rotating guest roasters alongside its own Halfwit label.
