Why it’s on the route

Zocalo Coffee is a San Leandro-based coffeehouse and roaster owned by Sara Ubelhart, which opened its first San Francisco café in August 2026. The new shop fills the long-vacant Mission Creek Park Pavilion in Mission Bay, right on the creek, serving its own coffee with house-made croissants and scones. The owners intend it as a neighborhood gathering place for meetings and talks.
