Why it’s on the route
Farley's has been Potrero Hill's neighbourhood coffeehouse since Roger Hillyard opened it in 1989 in a former butcher shop; his son Chris and daughter-in-law Amy took over in 2012. The focus is simple drip coffee and espresso rather than pour-over, in a room known for local art, monthly exhibitions and a wall of hundreds of magazines. Its costumed Pet Parade before Halloween is a local tradition.
