Third Wave Roastery

Why it’s on the route

Third Wave Roastery was started by Tran Tuan Linh as a small roastery and still sells its own beans, from Vietnamese lots to Central American Gesha and coffee from Laos. The café brews on V60, Melitta, Kalita and Chemex as well as a Sanremo espresso machine, with butter cookies and pastries from baker Dang Nguyen Nhung. It sits beside a row of communist-era blocks in Hai Ba Trung, about a 30-minute walk south of Hoan Kiem Lake.
