Worth a journey
Cafe de l'Ambre
Tokyo · Ginza, Japan
Special experience
Why it’s on the route
Café de l'Ambre has served nothing but coffee in Ginza since 1948, founded by Ichiro Sekiguchi, who was still roasting here at 100. Beans are roasted in-house and brewed by hand-sewn flannel drip, and the shop is known for aged 'old coffee', with jars of vintage beans on display and limited releases such as 2016-harvest lots. Guests sit at a narrow counter on swivel stools; the signature drink is the Queen of Amber.
