Why it’s on the route

Heckeln is a long-running Nishi-Shinbashi coffee shop of more than half a century, near Toranomon Station and geared to the office workers of the area. Its fame rests on a firm, egg-rich jumbo pudding with house caramel, made in limited numbers and often gone by late morning, best ordered as a set with coffee. The master's chatty presence is part of the visit.
