Why it’s on the route

Kurasu started in 2013 as an online shop sending Japanese coffee gear abroad, and opened this narrow stand a few minutes' walk from Kyoto Station in 2016. It now roasts its own beans at a machiya roastery in Nishijin on Giesen and Loring roasters, moved there from Fushimi Inari in 2021. The stand pours a rotating line-up of single origins by hand, with espresso and beans and brewing equipment on the shelves.
