Why it’s on the route
Cupping Spoon was founded in Tainan in 2013 by Vincent Chung as a coffee education business, and also imports green coffee, buying directly from farms in Costa Rica and Panama. Store manager Kevin Kao sources and roasts the beans in a glass-walled roastery visible from the street, with a homely café behind it. Its SCA-recognised school trains about 100 students a year in cupping and brewing.
