Why it’s on the route

1000 Faces was founded in Athens in 2006 by Benjamin Myers, with Jan Kozak joining as a partner in 2010. In 2017 it moved into its own building on North Thomas Street, where about 30 seats look through floor-to-ceiling windows onto a 30-kilo Proaster. The bar runs a Synesso espresso machine alongside batch brew and Kalita Wave pour-overs, in a deliberately cosy, unpretentious room.
