Why it’s on the route

Heartwork Coffee Bar is a small neighborhood shop on Goldfinch Street in Mission Hills, opened in 2015 by Rob Moran and Sam Stothers, two former punk and hardcore musicians who spent time in Seattle's coffee scene. They rebuilt a former jewelry store themselves and set out to serve careful pour-overs and espresso drinks with locally roasted beans, starting with Dark Horse and James Coffee. It is laid-back and order-at-the-counter, with a creative, musical feel.
