Why it’s on the route

June was founded by Alabama native Jimmy Truong, who worked at Octane in Birmingham and Good Coffee in Portland before coming home to start roasting; a Kickstarter helped fund the café, which opened in 2022. The just-under-1,000-square-foot shop on 25th Street North has tall windows, a bar built from red clay bricks as a nod to terroir, and walls clad in wood salvaged from the building's former woodworking shop.
