Why it’s on the route

Kumquat was opened in Highland Park in 2018 by AJ Kim and Scott Sohn as a multi-roaster bar, pouring coffees from roasters in the US and cities such as Osaka, Copenhagen, Seoul and Melbourne. Espresso comes off a La Marzocco Comet, and the menu mixes pour-over and straight espresso with creative drinks like a peanut-butter-foam espresso. The same team later launched its own roastery, Loquat, and the Quat café.
