Why it’s on the route
Rêve was started by Nathanael Johnson and Christopher Pickle inside BiBi's Patisserie before moving in 2015 to a 3,100-square-foot roastery café on Jefferson Street downtown. Coffee is roasted on site on an 8-kilo Öztürk and a larger US Roaster Corp machine, with green coffee from Royal Coffee and growing direct ties in Guatemala and El Salvador. Open sightlines connect the bar to the roasters, and the counters and tables were built by Johnson's father, a woodworker.
