Why it’s on the route
Zoka was founded in 1997 by Jeff Babcock, and its Tangletown café near Green Lake is where the company started, with a small roaster in the space that is now the flagship. Babcock travels to origin regularly and has judged Cup of Excellence competitions since 2003, and several Zoka baristas have won barista championships. The café is a roomy neighbourhood hangout serving espresso and pour-over from Zoka's small-batch roasts.
