Why it’s on the route

Metric was founded by Xavier Alexander and Darko Arandjelovic and has long been anchored on a quiet stretch of Fulton Street, where a modern counter fronts the former back-room roastery. Its signature order is the Fulton Street Handshake, a small drip with a double espresso on the side, alongside pour-overs and nitro cold brew. Roasting has since moved to the new Milli site in Avondale, and the Fulton space now doubles as a training lab and equipment showroom.
