Sawada Coffee

Why it’s on the route

Sawada Coffee is a partnership between restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff and Hiroshi Sawada, who in 2008 became the first Japanese barista to win the Free Pour Latte Art world title. It opened in 2015 in a corner of Sodikoff's Green Street Smoked Meats in the West Loop, an open room of community benches. The signature is the military latte of matcha, espresso and cocoa, and the bar also serves pour-overs and shochu-spiked drinks.
