Worth a detour
Tinker Coffee Co.
Indianapolis · Downtown, United States
Why it’s on the route
Tinker was started by brothers-in-law Steve Hall and Jeff Johnson, inspired by Michaele Weissman's book God in a Cup, who began on a used Probat L12. In 2018 they moved to a 10,000-square-foot warehouse on 16th Street with a Loring roaster, and after the pandemic shifted from wholesale towards cafés around Indianapolis. The downtown Market Street shop serves rotating single origins, espresso drinks and retail beans.
