Why it’s on the route
Pastel Coffee Works started in 2011 as a small café in Hapjeong and grew into a specialty roasting company, with roaster-barista Bang Hyun-young, the 2021 Korea National Barista Champion, behind its signature Champion Blend 'Rolly', which changes each season. The lineup runs from house blends to single origins from Kenya, Ethiopia and Bolivia, brewed by hand drip as well as espresso. The Hapjeong original sits on a side street, with a newer showroom in Seochon.
